Bible Verses |
Our Belief |
What This Means to Us |
|
Matthew 28:18-20
John 20:21-23
Acts 1:4-5 |
We believe in the Triune
God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. |
There are no other gods
but The God, often referred to as "The Trinity" or one God who exists
eternally as three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy
Spirit. |
|
2 Timothy 3:14-17
1 Corinthians 2:12-13
Psalms 1:1-2 |
The entire Bible is
God-breathed, eternal and infallible. |
We humble ourselves
before God’s Word, which is the primary way the Holy Spirit convicts,
enlightens and empowers followers of Jesus today. |
|
John 14:61
Timothy 2:5-6
John 3:16-17 |
Jesus is the Way, the
Truth and the Life. |
He is truly God and
truly man. The Bible is clear: God sent His Son into the world to save the
world, not condemn it. The Holy Spirit is working to bring people into a
saving relationship with the Father through the Son. |
|
1 Peter 5:6-7
James 4:10 |
God alone is worthy of
all our praise. |
We ask God to forgive us
our arrogance and pride as we seek to honor God in all we think, say and
do. |
|
Matthew 22:35-40
1 John 3:16-18 |
We were created to love
and serve God. |
Our first responsibility
is to have a personal, loving relationship with the Heavenly Father.
Through this relationship God’s Spirit empowers us to love others as
ourselves. |
|
Ephesians 2:8-9
Romans 3:9-25
Jonah 2:9 |
We are saved by God’s
grace alone, acknowledging that all are sinners. |
We cannot save
ourselves. We are by nature sinful and unclean. We receive God's free gift
of salvation through faith alone in Jesus, not by what we have done, but
by His amazing grace. We praise God that He gave Jesus to pay the ultimate
price for our sins so that we might live, forgiven and set free!

|
John 15:16-17
Galatians 5:6
James 2:14-17 |
We believe that faith
without works is dead. |
Our faith is visible in
our daily lives, and we seek to serve Him using the unique gifts God has
given to each of us. |
|
Matthew 20:25-28
Matthew 25:31-40
Matthew 5:16 |
Whoever wants to be
great must be a servant to all. |
Jesus tells us that as
we serve the hurting, often forgotten, people in this world, we are
actually serving and glorifying God. We seek to serve as Jesus came to
serve. |
|
Matthew 6:19-21
Colossians 3:1-2
Romans 12:1-2 |
We are in the world but
not of the world. |
As our relationship with
God grows, through the power of the Holy Spirit we are changed to be less
like the world and more like Jesus. |
|
Matthew 16:18
1 Peter 2:4-5 |
The Church is the Lord’s |
The Church is made up of
living stones, that is, followers of Jesus in every time and place. LOC is
a very small part of God’s Church. We ask the Holy Spirit’s wisdom to
discern the work God has for us. |
